I used to dream that I was in very high places. In my dreams, climbing up was easy, but suddenly I would realise that I didn’t know how to climb back down.
I remember the feeling of being high above everything, followed by the fear of falling.
This painting comes from those dreams. It captures that strange space between feeling free and feeling afraid — when you have climbed so far that you have to trust yourself and let go of the fear.
I still have the painting above my bed, where it has become a quiet reminder of those dreams.
